Dave Clemmons Casting, has most recently cast the new Frank Wildhorn musical Wonderland, the new national tour of the musical version of 101 Dalmatians (dir Jerry Zaks, music by Dennis DeYoung) and the national tour of The Wizard of Oz. They are also in developmental casting for Grumpy Old Men the musical, the musical version of The Witches of Eastwick and the international production of Frank Wildhorn’s Tears of Heaven directed by Gabe Barre. Dave Clemmons Casting has cast Broadway shows including Ring of Fire, In My Life, The Boy From Oz, Dracula, The Civil War, Brooklyn, Cinderella starring Eartha Kitt and Jamie Lynn Sigler; Off-Broadway shows including Bare, Bat Boy,Dear Edwina Altar Boyz, Zanna Don't!, the 2000 revival of Godspell and the National Tours of Cinderella, Evita, Millie, Cats, Fosse, Jekyll & Hyde, Chicago, Joseph and Saturday Night Fever, and Moving Out. Dave Clemmons is also casting director and artistic associate for both Casa Manana Theatre in Ft. Worth, Tx. And Flat Rock Playhouse, the state theatre of North Carolina.
Dave began his career as a performer in Broadway roles in Les Miserables (Valjean), The Civil War, The Scarlet Pimpernel, Jekyll and Hyde and Whistle Down the Wind.
As a music/vocal director or supervisor Dave has worked on the Broadway production of The Civil War, National Tours of Jekyll and Hyde and The Civil War, Little Shop at The Tony Award winning Alley Theatre, vocal director arranger of The Civil War at The Ford’s Theatre in Washington, D.C. and casting director/vocal director /arranger for The Presidential Gala performance of The Civil War at The National Theatre in D.C. starring Trisha Yearwood, Clay Aiken, Larry Gatlin and Hal Holbrook.
Dave is a producing partner in StylesFour Productions which has been producer/investors in Spring Awakening, Talk Radio and 25 Qustions… starring Judy Gold. He also served as Producer for the critically acclaimed New York production of Bat Boy and an Intimate Evening with Frank Wildhorn and Friends starring Frank Wildhorn. Linda Eder and Douglas Sills.
He has conducted the Broadway Gospel Choir and the Dave Clemmons Choir on The Today Show, the Bravo Network, Carnegie Hall and the Gershwin Theatre on Broadway.
Dave is an in demand teacher/lecturer having taught at every major music theatre training program in the country as well as Masterclasses in New York, LA, Chicago, Boston, Houston and Orlando. He is a visiting professor at the acclaimed Elon University Musical Theatre Program and is a permanent faculty member of The Broadway Theatre Project founded by Anne Reinking.
